1Move notation

Hold it so that the slice line on the front face of the middle is left of centre. (x,y) = top by x slots, bottom by y slots (slot = edge width = 30°, corner = 2 slots, 3 = 90°). Positive: top like U on a cube (front moves left), bottom like D (front moves right). / = right half by half a turn. The slice is blocked when a corner lies across its line - then a layer is one slot off.

2Star: 6 corners on the bottom

Colours do not matter. Triple = 3 corners next to each other (half a layer).

  • Triple on the top: triple to the right, bottom so that there are edges on the right, /.
  • No triple: make one with a slice at the slice line: corners on the top left next to the line + corners on the bottom right at the other end of the line (the half flips: bottom-back comes up to top-front). Pick a join after which you can send the triple down straight away with a gain.
  • Do not undo a slice (slice after slice with no turn). Nothing fits: any slice that does not take corners from the bottom.

4Corners to their layers

White corners to the top, yellow ones to the bottom.

Yellow corner at the front right on the top, white one at the front left on the bottom (90° turns):

(0,-1) / (0,3) / (0,1)

Repeat until the top has no yellow corners (at most 4 times).

5Edges to their layers

Yellow edge on the right of the top, white one on the right of the bottom:

(1,0) / (0,-3) / (0,-3) / (-1,-1) / (1,4) / (0,3) / (-1,0)

3From star to cube

Count the edges between the 2 corners on the top (shorter side). Bottom: slice between the corners of the star. Set up the top as in the drawing (top view, front at the bottom):

0 - next to each other/ (4,2) / (1,2) / (3,3) / (-1,1)
1 - 1 edge/ (0,2) / (1,2) / (-2,3) / (2,1) / (3,0) /
2 - 2 edges/ (4,2) / (1,-4) / (3,0) / (-1,1)
3 - 3 edges (at the front)/ (4,0) / (1,0) / (3,-2) / (2,1) / (0,3) /
4 - 4 edges/ (2,2) / (0,-1) / (3,3) /

Misshapen middle: / (6,0) / (6,0) / (6,0)

6Permuting the corners

Headlights = a side where both corners have the same colour. 4 = correct, 1 = adjacent swap, 0 = diagonal swap.

Swap of the front corners of the top and the bottom:

/ (0,3) / (3,3) / (0,3) / (6,6)

  • One set of headlights on the top and one on the bottom: headlights at the back, once.
  • Otherwise: one set of headlights on a side (left/right), once - and then as above.

Finally, turn the layers to match the middle.

7Edges and parity

B = (0,-1) / (0,-3) / (1,1) / (-1,2) / (0,1) - swaps the back and right edges of the top and the back and left edges of the bottom.

  • Three-edge cycle on the top: correct edge at the front, B (3,0) B (-3,0), turn the top back; still wrong - once more. None correct - once from any position.
  • Three-edge cycle on the bottom: correct edge at the front, B (0,3) B (0,-3).
  • Two swapped on the top and on the bottom: one B (swapped: top back+right, bottom back+left; opposite - B and finish with a cycle).
  • Two swapped on one layer only - parity (swaps the front and back edges of the top; on the bottom: parity, then B):
    / (3,3) / (1,0) / (-2,-2) / (2,0) / (2,2) / (-1,0) / (-3,-3) / (-2,0) / (3,3) / (3,0) / (-1,-1) / (-3,0) / (1,1) / (-4,-3)
Slice at the front, left of centre. (x,y): top by x·30°, bottom by y·30°, each clockwise when looking at it (like U and D on a cube); / = right half by 180°. 3 = 90°. StrefaKostek.pl
