List of products by manufacturer Cube Twist

Cube Twist is a Chinese manufacturer specialising in bandaged cubes, puzzles with permanently joined pieces. Its range includes 3x3x3, 4x4x4 and Pyraminx versions. It's a great choice if you can already solve a classic cube and want a completely different challenge from speedcubing.

The Chinese brand Cube Twist (also listed in shops and on forums as Cubetwist or CubeTwist) focuses on a niche that most cube manufacturers skip: bandaged cubes. You won't find flagship speed cubes with magnets and tension adjustment in its range. Cube Twist makes puzzles that are mainly about thinking, where turning speed matters very little.

What are Cube Twist bandaged cubes

In a bandaged cube, some of the pieces are permanently joined into larger blocks. Because of this, certain moves are blocked: a layer won't turn until the joined block is in the right position. Many well-known algorithms from the classic 3x3 can't be performed on such a cube, so you have to plan the order of your moves and look for workarounds. In the past, people made these puzzles themselves by gluing together pieces of regular cubes. In 2011, Cube Twist announced mass production of a whole series of bandaged cubes, and since then you can buy them ready-made, with no DIY required.

Key models and series

  • bandaged 3x3x3 cubes in various configurations, including the Two Bar Cube and the Bicube,

  • bandaged 4x4x4 cubes that imitate cuboids, e.g. 3x3x4 and 3x4x4,

  • Wall Cube (Burr Cube), a 4x4x4 with blocks arranged like bricks in a wall,

  • AI Bandaged 4x4,

  • Bandaged Pyraminx, a regular Pyraminx with joined pieces, which reduces the number of available moves,

  • Bandaged 3x3 DIY Kit, a stickerless cube with a set of coloured tiles that snap onto the pieces. The tiles connect neighbouring pieces, so you can configure your own bandaged cube and change its layout later.

Who are Cube Twist puzzles for

Cube Twist cubes are a great fit for people who can already solve a classic 3x3 and want to try a different kind of challenge, as well as for twisty puzzle collectors. They are not a good choice for a first cube. If you don't know how to solve a regular 3x3, it's hard to understand why a move is blocked and how to get around it. If you're a parent looking for your child's first cube, we recommend starting with a standard 3x3. These are also not cubes for speedsolving: what counts is figuring things out and planning your moves, not TPS.

From this manufacturer's range, Strefa Kostek offers the Cubetwist Two Bar 3x3x3 Bandaged Cube, a bandaged 3x3x3 from the series with which Cube Twist started mass production.
