Cube Stands

Cube Stands

A cube stand is a small accessory, but you'll use it every day. When your cube sits on a stand, it doesn't roll off the desk or end up at the bottom of a drawer, and it's always within reach when you want to do a few solves. If you have a bigger collection, stands also help you organize your shelf, because every model gets its own spot. In this category you'll find simple stands from MoYu, QiYi, GAN and Z-cube, as well as more decorative display models.

Simple stands for everyday use

The simplest type is a small base with three support points, where the cube rests on one corner. That's what the QiYi DNA Stand looks like, with an openwork design inspired by the DNA series. It comes in several colors, so you can match it to your cube or use colors to mark different models in your collection. This group also includes basic MoYu and Z-cube stands.

MoYu Cube Stand: 50, 55, 58 or 60 mm

For cubes other than 3x3, pay attention to the size. The MoYu Cube Stand comes in four versions: 50 mm (a typical 2x2 size), 55 mm (3x3), 58 mm (4x4) and 60 mm (5x5). A smaller cube won't sit well on a stand made for a large one, and a stand that's too small won't give a bigger cube stable support. It's best to check your cube's size in its description and choose the version closest to it. The stands also fit other cube-shaped puzzles of a similar size, such as the Skewb.

GAN stands for standard and smart cubes

The GAN display stand comes in two versions: for regular 3x3 cubes and for GAN 3x3 smart cubes such as the GAN i3 or iCarry. The stand holds the cube in a fixed position, so it works well on a shelf. For a smart cube, choose the "for smart 3x3x3" version, and for a regular 3x3, the "for standard 3x3" version. This category also includes the transparent GAN Cube Stand.

Display stands and stands with extra features

For a more eye-catching way to show off your cube, try the QiYi 3D Bracket made of transparent plastic or the Gravity Cube Display bracket. These stands have a more elaborate, decorative design than the usual three support points. The Cube-Stand Pen-Holder is a stand and pen holder in one, so it's handy on your study or work desk.

How to choose a cube stand?

• Cube size – for 2x2, 4x4 and 5x5, choose a stand that matches the size of your cube.
• Cube type – for GAN smart cubes, choose the version designed for smart models.
• Purpose – a simple stand is enough for putting your cube down every day, while a display model is better for showing off your collection.
• Color – if you have several cubes, colored stands help you tell the models apart quickly.
