Gravity Cube Display bracket – a balancing stand for your 3x3 cube

A regular stand holds your cube in place and does nothing more. The Gravity Cube Display bracket works differently. The cube rests on a small pivot point and is kept in balance by counterweights that shift the centre of gravity of the whole set downwards. Give the cube a light push with your finger and it starts to spin and sway on the stand without falling off. The stand is available in two colours: White and Blue.

How it works in practice

The whole effect is based on simple physics. The weight of the counterweights sits lower than the pivot point, so when tilted, the set returns upright on its own. From the side, it looks as if the cube is balancing on the tip of a pin. This stand is not meant for solving. You simply take the cube off, solve it and put it back. Its job is to show off your cube nicely on a desk or shelf and catch the attention of anyone who sees it.

Which cubes it fits

The stand is designed for 3x3 cubes. Distributors state that it fits the standard speedcube size of 55–57 mm. Most current flagship and budget 3x3 cubes fall within this range. We have no confirmation of how the stand handles larger 3x3 cubes, cubes of other sizes or differently shaped puzzles such as the Pyraminx or Megaminx. That is why we recommend it primarily for a regular 3x3.

Who is it for?

For cubers who have a favourite cube or a collector's piece and want to display it in a more interesting way than on a flat stand. It also makes a great gift for anyone who solves cubes. It's a simple gadget: there's nothing to set up or adjust, and the effect is visible right away. The easiest way to choose the colour is to match it to your cube's plastic or your desk: white goes well with light stickerless cubes, while blue stands out more.
