Cubicle DNM-37 Lube

A water-based cube lube that works almost instantly. Just a few turns after applying it, your cube gets noticeably faster, which is why many cubers call it a "booster". Cubicle DNM-37 Lube from the Cubicle Labs line is one of the most popular speed lubes, meaning lubes designed above all to make turning faster. We offer it in a 10 ml bottle.

How DNM-37 works

It's a piece lube, meaning a lube for the plastic surfaces that rub against each other inside the cube. It's thin and light, so it doesn't slow down turning; it simply reduces friction between the pieces. Water-based lubes usually dry out quickly, and the effect wears off after a few solves. DNM-37 has a formula that absorbs moisture from the air, so it dries more slowly and the effect lasts longer. On speedcubing forums it's often compared to Maru: it works in a similar way but lasts longer.

This lube doesn't add control. If your cube is already very fast and tends to overshoot, DNM-37 will make it even faster. In that case, it's better to reach for a thicker lube, or use DNM-37 together with one to speed up a cube that turns too heavily.

How to apply

• Apply 2 drops to the pieces inside the cube. That's usually enough.
• Turn the cube for a minute or two so the lube spreads evenly.
• When turning starts to feel dry again, add more lube.
• Do not apply DNM-37 to metal parts such as screws, springs and washers. The lube contains water, so it may cause rust. Use silicone lube for these parts.

Who is it for?

DNM-37 is a great choice when a new cube feels slow or dry straight out of the box, or when you want to bring the speed back to your main. It suits puzzles of every size: from 2x2 and 3x3, through bigger cubes, to Megaminx and Square-1. If you're just starting to lube your cubes, DNM-37 plus a silicone lube for the springs makes a good starter set. The lube is safe to touch but must not be swallowed. Keep this in mind when a child is lubing a cube.
