This version of the eleventh-generation WeiLong has the most technical features. MoYu WeiLong V11 3x3 20-M MagLev Ball Core UV is a 3x3 cube from MoYu's flagship series and the successor to the WeiLong V10. It has 20 magnets in the Ball-Core, MagLev instead of springs and a glossy UV coating. Yiheng Wang set a 3.91 s average on the WeiLong V11. It was the world record at the time and the first official average under 4 seconds.

What's inside

• Ball-Core 3.0 with 20 magnets. The spherical core has 8 magnets that work with the corners and 12 that work with the edges. They help align the layers and keep the cube stable during fast turning.
• MagLev. The centers use repelling magnets instead of springs. There is no spring resistance or spring noise, so turns feel lighter.
• 100 magnets in total, including 48 magnets between the pieces.
• Two adjustment systems: 8 tension levels and 8 compression levels. You set them with the MoYu tool included in the box.

Feel and setup

The cube is very fast and light-turning straight out of the box. Users say the turning is smoother and less blocky than on the standard V11. Opinions largely agree on one thing: this WeiLong works best with precise, light turning. With aggressive solving on the factory settings it may feel too loose. That's why many cubers tighten the tension or compression by one level, and only then get a cube that is fast but still controllable. Reviewers rate the magnet strength differently, from medium to fairly strong. However, they point out that it is spread more evenly across the whole cube than in versions without core magnets. The UV coating gives noticeably better grip than matte plastic.

Which WeiLong V11 version?

• V11 M (standard): 48 magnets, springs, matte (frosted) plastic, 60 g. The most blocky feel, with the most noticeable magnets.
• V11 M UV: the same mechanism plus UV coating, 61 g.
• V11 8-M Ball-Core UV: 8 magnets in the core (for the corners only), still with springs, 63 g.
• V11 20-M MagLev Ball-Core UV (this version): 20 magnets in the core, MagLev and UV, 67 g. It turns the lightest and has the most magnetic stabilization, but you need to spend a moment on setup to get the best out of it.

Who it's for

For speedcubers with precise turning who want to raise their TPS, and for anyone who likes tuning a cube's settings to their own style. For beginners or casual solving, the V11 M or M UV is usually a better choice. They are calmer, more forgiving and work well without adjustment.
