List of products by manufacturer Cyclone Boys

A Chinese manufacturer of affordable puzzle cubes and twisty puzzles, best known for its shiny Metallic series. Its cubes work well as a first cube, a gift or another addition to your collection.

Cyclone Boys (Chinese: 旋风小子, XuanFeng XiaoZi) is the brand of a Chinese puzzle manufacturer from Guangdong Province. The cubes are made at the Shenzhou factory in Chenghai District, Shantou. The brand has been around since at least 2010. From the start, it has focused on affordable puzzle cubes and other twisty puzzles: cubes from 2x2 up to larger NxN sizes, as well as Pyraminx, Skewb and Megaminx.

Cyclone Boys cubes – what the brand is known for

Cyclone Boys doesn't compete for competition records the way flagship models from GAN, MoYu or QiYi do. The brand's strength is good quality at a low price. Their cubes usually turn well straight out of the box, don't need lube or tension adjustment right away, and are inexpensive. The manufacturer also often goes for an unusual look. Today, its best-known line is the Metallic series.

Key series and models

  • Metallic – cubes with a shiny, metallised outer coating and a plastic mechanism inside. The series includes 2x2, 3x3 and 4x4 models, in magnetic and non-magnetic versions. It also includes the Metallic Mirror Magnetic, a mirror cube. Its pieces differ in shape and size rather than colour, so you solve it by geometry.

  • FeiJue M – the brand's first magnetic 3x3, with magnets in the edges and corners. Cubers saw it more as a budget introduction to magnetic cubes than as a rival to more expensive models. The current version available is the FeiJue V2 M.

  • FeiZhi 2x2 – one of the few 2x2 cubes with tiles, i.e. coloured plates instead of stickers, on a black base. Reviewers praise its smooth turning, which is fast yet still easy to control.

  • FeiChi, SZ and basic 2x2 and 3x3 models – simple, inexpensive cubes, with or without magnets. They also include a 3x3 version with a UV coating.

Who Cyclone Boys cubes are for

These cubes work well as a first cube for learning to solve, a gift for a child or a spare cube for your backpack. The Metallic series will also appeal to collectors of unusual-looking cubes. Speedcubers who want advanced tension and compression settings, MagLev or Ball-Core in their main cube should rather choose flagship models from other manufacturers. For casual solving, learning your first methods and practising on bigger cubes without spending a lot, Cyclone Boys is more than enough.
