Speedcubing Timer Accessories

This category features timer accessories: cables, adapters, batteries and holders. Most of them serve one of three purposes. The first is connecting your timer to a computer, display or app. The second is powering the timer. The third is mounting it permanently on your mat.

Connecting your timer to a computer and display

A timer can send your time through a cable. This way the result shows up on a display or goes straight into a program such as csTimer, with no need to type in your times by hand. The most important thing when choosing a cable is the port on your timer. Speed Stacks timers have a 2.5 mm port, so the cable has a 2.5 mm plug on one end and a standard 3.5 mm plug on the other. There are separate cables for timers of this brand: Speed Stacks Cable for G4 Timer and Speed Stacks Cable for G5 Timer. Choose the one that matches your timer's generation. For QiYi timers, use the QiYi Timer Data Cord, while the QiYi Display Data Cable connects 2.5 mm and 3.5 mm plugs.

Already have a regular 3.5 mm cable? Then all you need is an adapter with a 2.5 mm plug and a 3.5 mm socket. Your computer reads the signal from the timer through the microphone input. If your computer doesn't have one, or it works unreliably, a USB sound card will help by adding a separate audio input.

Go wireless: Bluetooth adapter

The QiYi Timer Bluetooth Adapter plugs into the 3.5 mm port on your timer. It sends your times wirelessly to an app such as Smart Player Pro, or to a Bluetooth-enabled display. It's handy when you practice with your phone and don't want a cable running across your desk.

Batteries, holders and stickers

Weak batteries can make your timer misbehave, and this most often happens during a longer session. That's why it's worth keeping spare AAA batteries on hand. Before buying, check the manual or the battery compartment to see what power your model uses. Timer holders from Zcube attach the timer to your mat, so it doesn't slide when you start and stop the time. You'll also find QiYi Speed Timer Sticker stickers in this category to personalize your QiYi timer.
