The QiYi Timer Bluetooth Adapter is an accessory for a speedcubing timer that adds Bluetooth connectivity to it. You no longer have to copy times from the timer by hand or send them over a cable. Each result goes wirelessly to the device where you keep your stats. The adapter is black.

What a timer Bluetooth adapter is for

When you practise on a physical timer, the most tiring part is recording your times. After every solve you have to write down the result or connect the timer to a computer with a cable. The Bluetooth adapter sends your times without a cable, so you don't have to type anything between solves, and each solve goes straight into your session.

This way of practising is most useful if you train on a timer in competition-like conditions (starting and stopping with your hands on the pads) and also want averages and a history of your results in an app. If you time solves by hand, on a keyboard or on a phone screen, the adapter makes no difference.

Before you buy

The adapter is an add-on, not a standalone timer. To work, it needs a compatible timer and a device with Bluetooth. If you're not sure whether it will work with your timer or app, write to us before ordering. We'll help you check compatibility.

Tested with our timer

We tested the adapter with our free cube timer ("Bluetooth Timer" tab): times are saved without a cable, on your phone too.

• Works with timers: SpeedStacks G4 and G5, QiYi, Sengso and GAN - you plug the adapter into the timer's data port. In practice it fits almost any Stackmat-type timer.
• Phone: this is the best way to use a timer with an Android phone. Over a cable, a phone usually can't read the signal from the timer.
• Browser: Chrome or Edge on a computer and on Android (Opera works too). Firefox and Safari don't support Bluetooth; on an iPhone you need the Bluefy browser.
• How to connect: plug the adapter into the timer and switch the timer on, then on the timer page choose "Bluetooth Timer" → "Connect timer" and select the QY-Adapter-… device from the list.
• If it won't connect: hold the only button on the adapter for 5 seconds (reset) and check that the site has permission to use Bluetooth (icon next to the address → Site settings).
