Keychains 

The keychains from Strefa Kostek are small, working puzzles, not plastic decorations shaped like a puzzle cube. On every model you can turn the layers and solve it just like a regular puzzle. They are very small, so you can clip a keychain cube to your keys, backpack or pencil case. This way you will always have it with you whenever you have a moment for a quick solve.

Mini 3x3 keychain cubes – which size to choose?

Most of the products here are miniature 3x3 cubes. They differ mainly in size and shape. The smallest one is the GAN 328, which measures just 28 mm. Instead of stickers, it has coloured tiles that won't peel off, and it comes with a transparent case. Slightly bigger are the models of around 30 mm, such as the GAN 30mm and MoYu 30mm. The largest in this group are 35 mm cubes, for example the MoYu 35mm and QiYi Gear 3x3. The latter has a gear mechanism, so it turns differently from a regular 3x3.

The choice is simple. The smaller the cube, the easier it is to carry. The bigger it is, the more comfortable it is to solve. A mini cube won't replace a full-size 3x3 for practice, because it is harder to keep control of such small layers when turning fast. Pillowed versions (e.g. the QiYi Pillowed 30 mm or SengSo Mini 3x3 Keychain Pillowed) have slightly convex faces. This makes the cube more rounded and more comfortable to hold.

Keychains with other puzzles

Not all keychains are 3x3 cubes. In this category you will also find a mini 2x2 (QiYi 2x2x2 Pillowed), the QiYi Pyraminx and the QiYi Ivy Cube. The Ivy Cube has a shape similar to the Skewb and turns around its corners. The YJ Pocket mini IVY Cube (48 mm) is available in magnetic and non-magnetic versions. Magnets help the layers stop in the right position. More unusual shapes include the FanXin mini Penrose and FanXin mini 4-Colors Ball. The 1x1x1 Keychain cube, on the other hand, is a fun gag gift for someone who already knows cubes.

A keychain cube as a gift

A small keychain makes a great little gift for a cuber or a child's first encounter with puzzles. For Christmas, try the Z-Cube Christmas Tree Cube. It is a 3x2x1 cuboid shaped like a Christmas tree, which you can solve or hang on your tree as a decoration.
