Collectible Cubes

Collectible cubes and limited editions

Collectible cubes are limited, anniversary and special editions of models from well-known manufacturers such as GAN, MoYu, X-Man Design, QiYi and YJ. These are unique versions of cubes that differ from the standard ones mainly in their looks. They come in different color schemes, with transparent parts, a logo celebrating the brand's anniversary or special packaging. Most of them, however, are fully functional speed cubes that you can solve and practice with as usual.

What limited edition cubes you will find in this category

• Anniversary editions: the GAN 10th Anniversary series (including GAN 356 ME UV, GAN 15 Maglev UV, GAN 12 Ui Maglev, GAN 251M Leap UV and GAN 251M Air) and MoYu models released for the brand's 18th anniversary, e.g. WeiLong V11 with a 20-magnet Ball-Core, MagLev and UV coating, or Super WeiLong V2.
• Seasonal and special editions, e.g. Christmas, Lunar New Year (LNY), winter or Year of the Horse versions.
• Limited versions of flagships, such as XMD Tornado V3 Pioneer Revived, Tornado V3 Pioneer Firefly and Tornado V4 Flagship YunRui.
• Not just 3x3: collectible versions of 2x2 cubes, Zeal Slim Pyraminx, QiYi Magnetic Clock in limited colors and ShengShou 4x4 Magnetic Clock V2.
• Gadgets, e.g. the miniature GAN 330 Keychain, which is a working 3x3 cube.

What to look for when choosing a collectible cube

The most important thing is which model the edition is based on. It determines the cube's technical features, for example whether it has magnets, MagLev (springs replaced with magnets), Ball-Core (magnets in the center of the cube that stabilize the layers) or a UV coating, which changes the grip and the look of the surface. Models marked "i" or "Ui" are smart cubes that connect to an app. We describe the character of each cube, i.e. whether it is fast, stable and how easy it is to control, on every product page, because this category includes models with very different specifications.

For a speedcuber, a limited edition means owning a favorite model in a version others don't have. A collector will appreciate the unique finish and packaging. A cube from this category also makes a great gift. If you are buying one for a child who is just starting out, choose an edition of a simpler model. Advanced MagLev flagships turn very lightly, and a beginner may need a moment to get them under control.
