YuXin – Little Magic, Kylin and HuangLong cubes

Speedcubers mainly associate the Chinese manufacturer YuXin with two things: the affordable yet well-performing Little Magic series and big NxN cubes. The brand's range includes cubes from 2x2 all the way up to very large models. Alongside them, YuXin makes WCA puzzles such as the Pyraminx, Skewb, Megaminx and Square-1, as well as unusual puzzles and accessories.

Little Magic – an affordable series for learning and practice

Little Magic is YuXin's most popular line. It includes cubes from 2x2 to 6x6, as well as the Pyraminx, Skewb, Megaminx and Square-1. Many models also come in a magnetic version, marked M or Magnetic. Among cubers, these puzzles are known as some of the best-performing cubes at a low price. That's why they are often bought as a child's first cube or as a cheap way to try a new event without spending money on a flagship model. Some models have received newer versions, e.g. the Little Magic 3x3 M V2 and 2x2 M V2.

Kylin (Black Kylin) – a world record series

In April 2015, Collin Burns set the 3x3 world record of 5.25 s on the first version of the YuXin Kylin. This series is still being developed. Besides the Black Kylin 3x3 in v1 and v2 versions, it also includes a 2x2, 4x4, Pyraminx and Skewb. The Mirror Cube also belongs to this line. It's a 3x3 cube whose pieces have different dimensions. When scrambled, it changes shape, so you solve it by shape rather than by colour.

HuangLong and big cubes

In the HuangLong series, YuXin releases, among others, a 3x3 with tension adjustment and big cubes. The first mass-produced 11x11 was a YuXin cube. Later, even larger models appeared in the HuangLong line, up to 17x17. In 2018, the Hays7 7x7 was also released, designed together with speedcuber Kevin Hays. From this series, our range includes the HuangLong Magnetic Pyraminx, among others.

Other puzzles and accessories

Apart from classic cubes, YuXin makes the Magnetic Redi Cube, among others. The brand also produces speed stacking accessories: mats, timers and cups.

Who are YuXin products for?

• Beginners and parents: Little Magic is a sensible first cube, especially in the magnetic version. The magnets help align the layers, so the cube locks up less often.


• Speedcubers: an affordable backup cube or a first puzzle for side events such as Square-1, Megaminx or Skewb.


• Big cube fans: the HuangLong series, one of the more recognisable names among big cubes.
