YuXin Touring Megaminx

YuXin Touring Megaminx is shaped like a dodecahedron, but you don't solve it like a regular megaminx. The faces don't turn here. Instead, it turns around the corners, 120° with each move. It's the same mechanism as the Redi Cube, just transferred to a dodecahedron, which is why this kind of puzzle is called a Rediminx. The edges are jagged, so even when solved, the puzzle looks different from a classic megaminx.

How it solves

According to the manufacturer and the shops already selling it, the Touring turns smoothly right out of the box. It's also light for its size. Early reviews mention stable turning without noticeable lockups. Keep in mind, though, that these are individual opinions, not measured parameters.

The corners stay in place and can only be twisted. So the main task is positioning the edges. You do this with short sequences that cycle three pieces at once. If you've solved a Redi Cube, you'll quickly feel at home here. If you only know the megaminx, you'll need to learn a completely different system of moves, because megaminx algorithms don't work here.

Finish and adjustment

Who is it for?

One thing to know before you buy: despite the name, this is not a megaminx for WCA competition practice. If you want to train for megaminx events, choose a classic magnetic model.
