This category starts where 10x10 and 13x13 cubes end. Here you will find cubes from 14x14 up to 21x21 made by ShengShou (SengSo), YuXin, MoYu and DianSheng. They are bought mainly by enthusiasts and collectors. The size does not change the solving method itself, but a single solve usually takes several hours rather than a few minutes.
Most models come in 14x14, 15x15 and 17x17 sizes. We also have individual 16x16 and 19x19 designs. The largest is the MoYu 21x21x21, with over 2700 pieces. It is the largest mass-produced NxN cube. For comparison, the YuXin HuangLong 17x17 has 1947 pieces. With this many pieces, the cube is large and heavy, and solving it feels more like a long project than a regular practice session.
Some models come in two versions: without magnets and with magnets (M, Magnetic). This is the case with the SengSo MoSheng 14x14, 15x15 and 17x17 and the DianSheng Galaxy. Magnets help align a layer after a turn. With a dozen or more layers this matters a lot, because even a slightly misaligned layer can block the next move. The DianSheng Galaxy 15x15 M was the first mass-produced magnetic 15x15 cube. It is also noticeably smaller than many other models of this size: about 97 mm. The MoSheng 15x15 Magnetic measures about 98 mm.
Non-magnetic versions, such as the classic ShengShou models or the YuXin HuangLong series, are a good choice for a collection or for your first attempt at such a big cube. With them, however, you need to pay more attention to keeping the layers aligned before each turn.
If this is your first cube of this size, a sensible choice is a 14x14 or 15x15, ideally in a magnetic version. Models of 17x17 and larger make sense for those who already have experience with cubes bigger than 10x10.
