MoYu 15x15x15

MoYu 15x15x15 is one of the largest mass-produced classic cubes. For so many layers, it is fairly small: about 120 mm, only slightly bigger than a typical 7x7 cube. This makes it easier to hold and turn than many other big cubes. It does have some weight, though. At about 1125 g, it is just over a kilogram, so your hands will get tired during longer solves. At this size, there is no way around that.

How it turns

The turning is good for a 15x15 cube. Users report that it is smooth and lightly lubed out of the box, and the mechanism breaks in quickly. However, this is not a cube for high TPS. With this many layers, smooth, steady moves and careful layer alignment before each turn matter most. This keeps lockups to a minimum. The cube has no magnets, so the layers do not settle into place on their own and you have to align them yourself.

Tension adjustment

The cube has adjustment screws, so you can set the tension to suit your style: looser if you want lighter turning, or tighter if you want more stability. The set includes spare screws, springs and washers, and even a spare core. This comes in handy, because the mechanism of such a large cube takes a lot of stress.

Colour versions

The cube is available in two versions: Black (black body) and Stickerless Bright (coloured plastic, no stickers). The mechanism is the same in both, so the choice depends on which look you prefer.

Who is it for?

For experienced cubers who can solve big cubes (centre and edge reduction) and want to take on something really big. It is also a great piece for a big cube collection. The 15x15 cube is not a WCA event, so you cannot use it at official competitions. For your first cube or to start your big cube journey, a 4x4 or 5x5 is a better choice.
