We offer a wide range of puzzles for speedcubers. Here you'll find every type of cube solved at official speedcubing competitions - and much more!
When people say "Rubik's Cube", most of them mean the classic 3x3x3 cube - a cube with nine coloured squares on each face. At Strefa Kostek you'll find speedcubing puzzle cubes from renowned manufacturers such as GAN, MoYu, QiYi, YJ and DaYan. These cubes (so-called speedcubes) turn much more smoothly and precisely than ordinary toy cubes, have tension adjustment and often magnets too - which makes them easier to learn on and faster to solve. Besides 3x3s, we offer a full range of cubes from 2x2x2 to 21x21x21, as well as pyraminxes, megaminxes, skewbs and other puzzles.
Which cube should you start with? The best choice is a mid-range magnetic 3x3x3 cube - it is easy to solve, durable and will last a long time, even for your first competitions. You will find tips in our ranking of the best-selling 3x3 cubes. How do you solve a 3x3 cube? To start, we recommend the layer-by-layer method (LBL) - we have collected the best tutorials in our guide how to solve a 3x3x3 cube, and once you master the basics, check out how to solve faster with the CFOP method.
The history of the magic cube dates back to 1974, when Hungarian architect and lecturer Ernő Rubik built the prototype of a puzzle that - as it later turned out - revolutionised the world of puzzles and became the best-selling puzzle in history. The number of colourful polyhedron enthusiasts keeps growing, and Strefa Kostek aims to supply them with the best gear so they can keep breaking speedcubing records. Our range includes, among others:
2x2x2 cube - the smallest and simplest puzzle among the official competition events. The popular 2x2 is essentially a 3x3x3 cube without edges and centers - it consists only of eight three-colored corners. The world record for a single solve is under half a second.
3x3x3 cube - the puzzle that started the worldwide craze for puzzle cubes. No wonder 3x3s make up the largest part of the Strefa Kostek range. Modern 3x3x3 cubes stand out for their speed, light weight and precise turning - often supported by magnets - which makes solving a pure pleasure.
4x4x4 cube - also called the “Rubik's Revenge”, it is an expanded version of the classic 3x3x3 cube. Because it has four layers, solving it involves stages that do not exist on the 3x3x3: building centers and pairing edges. The cube has an even number of layers, so it has no fixed centers - you have to keep track of the correct color scheme yourself, and you will also run into parity cases, unknown on the 3x3x3.
5x5x5 cube - sometimes called the “Professor's Cube”. It consists of five layers: each edge is made of three adjacent pieces, and the centers form blocks of nine squares of one color. There are 98 moving pieces to solve, and the best competitors in the world solve it in just over half a minute.
We also offer many bigger cubes - from 6x6x6 and 7x7x7, through 13x13x13, all the way up to the giant 21x21x21 cube!
Pyraminx - a puzzle shaped like a tetrahedron (a pyramid with a triangular base). It has 6 edges and 4 centers to solve, plus independently turning “tips”. Thanks to its simple design, the pyraminx can be solved very quickly - top competitors get below two seconds. Popular models are made by GAN, MoYu, QiYi and X-Man, among others.
Skewb - a cube-shaped puzzle whose parts turn around axes running through the corners, so the moves look as if the cube is twisting “diagonally”. Learning this puzzle can feel unintuitive at first, but thanks to its simple design (8 corners and 6 centers) it lets you achieve very good times of just a few seconds.
Megaminx - a dodecahedron that resembles an expanded 3x3x3 cube with twelve faces in different colors. It is an interesting addition to any collection and one of the events officially recognized by the WCA (World Cube Association) - the worldwide speedcubing organization.
