QiYi QiMing S3 Pyraminx is the third generation of the budget QiMing series. It is a non-magnetic pyraminx. The layers are positioned by a mechanism with ball bearings and grooves, which gives a noticeable "click" with every turn. We offer the Stickerless Bright version, made of colored plastic, with no stickers that could wear off or peel.

How it turns

Straight out of the box, the S3 turns light and fast. The layer positioning is so distinct that many people mistake this pyraminx for a magnetic one. Reviewers describe it as fast and fairly flexible, with decent corner cutting when your moves are not perfectly accurate. The surface is heavily matte, so it sits well in your hand. Some users say that with aggressive turning it can feel less "controlled" than magnetic models. This is typical of non-magnetic pyraminxes in this segment.

No magnets: what it means in practice
