Strefa Kostek cube lubes: Adheron and LUBEST

This category contains the Adheron and LUBEST cube lubes, which we sell under the Strefa Kostek brand. You can choose from five lubes: Adheron Lite, Adheron, Adheron Heavy, LUBEST XMT 10 and LUBEST PRO. Adheron lubes come in 20 ml bottles. The main difference between all five is viscosity, which determines how much the lube speeds up or slows down your cube.

Adheron: three levels of viscosity

All three versions of Adheron share one key feature: the resistance they provide is designed to stay the same while you solve. Thick lubes used to slow a cube down often give a rubbery feel and brake the layers less and less over time, which makes it hard to set up the cube exactly the way you want. Adheron was designed to solve this problem.

• Adheron Lite has low viscosity. It does not add resistance, and the cube turns more smoothly. You can also add it to much thicker silicone lubes to thin them out.
• Adheron has medium viscosity. It gives the cube medium, even resistance, so the layers slow down in a stable way. It also removes the dry feel of the mechanism. It works well in fast cubes where you are missing a bit of control.
• Adheron Heavy has the highest viscosity of the three. It makes the most sense when your cube is too fast for you and you want to slow it down noticeably.

LUBEST XMT 10 and LUBEST PRO

LUBEST XMT 10 was developed after several months of testing. LUBEST PRO is its improved version. It is a silicone lube with a higher viscosity than XMT 10 that gives fast, smooth turning and lasts a long time. Thanks to its higher viscosity, it lubricates heavily loaded parts better, such as springs and the inner rings in even-layered cubes, e.g. 4x4.

How to choose a lube for your cube?

Start by asking what your cube is missing. If it is dry, noisy or too slow, choose Adheron Lite. If it is too fast and you get overshooting, i.e. turning layers too far, Adheron or Adheron Heavy will be a better choice. Lubes from both lines can be mixed, so you can adjust the viscosity to suit you. Some customers, for example, put a thicker lube on the springs and a thinner one on the pieces.

Use lube sparingly, especially the thicker ones. Apply a few drops and check the effect before adding more. Too much lube can make the cube sluggish and rubbery, and the lube may leak out.
