ZePuzzles Hexecontaminx is a 3D-printed 60-faced puzzle designed by Jacob Keener. Its surface looks like stained glass: the black body divides the colored tiles into a dense network of small, curved pieces. This is definitely a puzzle for experienced solvers and collectors, not the next step after the Megaminx.

Solving

The large number of pieces and the curved cuts make solving it a long project. The same colors repeat across the puzzle, which can lead to parity when seemingly identical pieces end up in the wrong place. You should be familiar with Megaminx-family puzzles and have experience solving without a ready-made method. This puzzle is not a WCA event.

Build and turning

The body is 3D-printed from black PETG, and the faces are covered with colored tiles. Expect the typical character of a 3D print: the mechanism is very tight, turning takes quite a lot of force and things can occasionally lock up. Don't force a turn when you feel resistance; check whether the layers are properly aligned instead. This puzzle is made for relaxed solving, not for speedcubing.

Who is it for?

For collectors of unusual puzzles and for those who have already mastered the Megaminx and are looking for something much more difficult. With a size of about 12 cm and its stained-glass pattern, it looks great on a shelf. It is not at all suitable as a gift for a beginner.
