DianSheng Galaxy 14x14 Magnetic is a magnetic 14x14 cube with factory-installed magnets, which is still rare in this category. For years, big cubes came without magnets, and solving them took a lot of patience when aligning the layers. The Galaxy 14M measures approx. 90 mm and weighs approx. 513 g. For 14 layers, that makes it a compact, light cube you can hold comfortably in your hands during a long solve.

How it turns

The magnets are light. They are not meant to give the cube a strong "click" like flagship 3x3s. Their job is to help the layers snap into place so your next move doesn't end in a lockup. On a cube with this many layers, that makes a big difference, because it's easy to leave a single row slightly misaligned. Users describe the turning as smooth and rate the corner cutting and the number of lockups as good for this size. It is still a big cube, though: turning calls for a calmer pace and precision, and the cube won't forgive aggressive turning the way a 3x3 does.

The outer layers are wider than the inner ones, so the cube is easier to grip and hold steadily. The magnet capsules are visible in the mechanism. The cube is fully cubic, with no rounded edges.

Even number of layers

A 14x14 has no fixed centers, so you need to settle on a color scheme before you start. While pairing the edges and solving the last layer, you may run into the parities known from 4x4. Black Internals or Primary Internals?

The stickerless version comes in two internal plastic variants: black (Black Internals) and light-colored (Primary Internals). The difference is purely visual – the mechanism is the same. The internal color shows when you turn the layers.

Who is it for?

For cubers who already have experience with big cubes and want to move up to the next size, and for big cube collectors. For your first big cube, a 6x6 or 7x7 is a better choice, as it lets you master the method without solves that take hours.
