The MoYu 21x21x21 is the largest mass-produced NxNxN cube.

MoYu's 21x21 cube hit the market in 2021. Each side has 21 layers, and according to distributors the whole cube consists of more than 2700 pieces. Many people assume that something this big must turn heavily and unevenly. In practice, the MoYu 21x21x21 turns surprisingly well for its size, although of course it can't compare to a typical speedcube.

How it solves

The cube measures about 150 mm per side and weighs about 2 kg, so it's most comfortable to solve on a table rather than in your hands. The outer layers are wider than the inner ones, which makes them easier to grip and turn with control. Users report that the cube turns properly straight out of the box and gets smoother and smoother after some solving. They also point out that the inner layers can be stiffer than the outer ones, and with this many pieces, lube usually makes a clear difference. The cube has no magnets, so you need to align the layers carefully before making the next move.

A solve takes many hours. What counts here is patience and a good command of the reduction method, not TPS. The cube is not allowed in official competitions, because 21x21 is not a WCA event.
