SengSo MoSheng 14x14 Magnetic is a magnetic 14x14 cube from ShengShou. It has a cube shape, measures approx. 95 mm and weighs approx. 658 g. The magnets help keep all 14 layers aligned during long solves, and the matte stickerless bright plastic sits comfortably in your hands.

A 14x14 cube from the MoSheng series by ShengShou (SengSo), available from us in the magnetic version. SengSo MoSheng 14x14 Magnetic has a classic cube shape rather than a pillowed one. It is also compact for so many layers, at about 95 mm. The colour scheme is stickerless bright, and the plastic has a matte (frosted) finish with moderate grip.
On big cubes, magnets are even more useful than on a 3x3. With 14 layers on each axis, it's easy to leave one of them slightly misaligned. On the next move, you then get a lockup or have to straighten the layers with your fingers. In the magnetic version, the layers "click" into place by themselves, so it's easier to turn slices evenly and you need fewer corrections. During centre building and edge pairing, which take up most of the solve on a 14x14, this saves real time and frustration.
Keep in mind that this is a very large puzzle. Even a well-set-up 14x14 won't turn as lightly as a 3x3, and fast, aggressive turning needs more care.
The MoSheng 14x14 also comes in a non-magnetic version, which is slightly lighter (approx. 626 g). The mechanism and size are the same in both versions. The magnetic version keeps the layers aligned better and makes precise turning easier. Without magnets, the cube is cheaper, but you have to keep the layers aligned yourself.
The older ShengShou Pillowed 14x14 has rounded faces, measures about 108 mm and is noticeably heavier. The MoSheng is smaller, has flat faces and is lighter, so longer solves are less tiring for your hands.
For cubers who have already solved smaller big cubes, such as a 6x6 or 7x7, or cubes above 10x10, and who know the reduction method along with parity, which will definitely come up on an even-layered cube. The MoSheng 14x14 is also a great choice for collectors of large cubes. For a first cube or a gift for a child just starting out, a 3x3 or 4x4 is a better pick.
