YuXin Black Kylin 4x4x4 new V2 is the second version of the 4x4 cube from the Black Kylin series. This series is YuXin's budget line, which also includes 3x3, 5x5 and Pyraminx models. This 4x4 cube has no magnets, comes in a stickerless version (coloured plastic without stickers) and measures 60 mm. It's a simple, affordable way to start with bigger cubes without buying a flagship magnetic model right away.

No magnets: what it means in practice

In magnetic cubes, the magnets pull the layers into alignment for you. Here there is no such help, so you have to keep the layers aligned yourself. This matters more on a 4x4 than on a 3x3, because there are more layers to line up. Misaligned layers make lockups more likely. On the other hand, turning feels freer, without the noticeable "click" on every move. Some people actually prefer this feel.
