Limited GAN V100 Leap edition for the Year of the Horse 2026 with an orange interior, an orange center cap and Horsie packaging. It has GES springs instead of MagLev, 64 magnets including core magnets, 72 adjustment settings and a matte surface. The cube measures 55 mm and weighs approx. 64 g.

GAN released this limited edition for the Chinese Year of the Horse 2026. Inside is the GAN V100 Leap 3x3, the V100 version that uses classic springs instead of MagLev. What sets it apart is the look and the bundle contents: an orange interior, an orange center cap with the GAN logo and packaging featuring Horsie, GAN's Year of the Horse mascot. The cube is stickerless in bright colors and has a matte (frosted) surface.
The V100 Leap is compact (55 mm) and light (approx. 64 g). The GES spring system gives a more "grounded", predictable turning feel than MagLev, which is faster and more "floaty". Cubers describe the Leap as fast but controllable, with good corner cutting. According to them, it is also quieter than the MagLev version. The magnets in the pieces give a clear click on every move. Core magnets, i.e. magnets between the corners and the core (this is not Ball-Core), pull the layers into place and forgive less precise turns at higher TPS.
Some people find the cube a bit too loose straight out of the box. Usually a different lube or adjusted settings is all it takes. The 55 mm size is a matter of taste. If you normally solve on a 56-57 mm cube, you will feel the difference in your hands at first.
The V100 MagLev uses repelling magnets instead of springs and is geared towards speed. The Leap uses springs, gives you more control and is also lighter. The Year of the Horse edition is mechanically the Leap version. Here you mainly pay extra for the collectible look and the extras in the set.
This version suits a speedcuber who wants a light 55 mm spring cube with a wide adjustment range rather than the fastest possible feel. With its orange interior and limited-edition packaging, it also makes a great gift for someone who already solves, or a piece for a GAN cube collection.
