GAN V100 Leap 3x3

GAN V100 Leap is a magnetic 3x3 cube from the V100 series. In this version, GAN replaced MagLev with classic springs but kept the core magnets. The cube is compact (55 mm) and lightweight, with a matte frosted surface and 72 adjustment settings. This unit is the stickerless bright version.

How it turns

Users most often describe the Leap as a fast cube that is still controllable. Turning is crisp, and the magnets clearly mark every move, so layers rarely stop halfway through a turn. The springs give a more "grounded" feel than MagLev. Some cubers find the MagLev version a touch faster, while others prefer the Leap precisely for its extra control. Corner cutting straight out of the box is decent but not outstanding. According to reviews, it improves noticeably once the cube is broken in and with looser center travel.

Core magnets and adjustment

• Core magnets (corner-to-core). Magnets between the corners and the core help align the layers and keep the cube stable at high TPS. This is not Ball-Core but a separate GAN design.
• 35° auto-alignment. A layer turned to roughly this angle snaps into place by itself.
• Springs instead of MagLev. According to the manufacturer, the Leap version has 64 magnets, while the MagLev variants have 76.
• 72 settings: 12 tension levels (tensioning) and 6 center travel levels. Everything is adjusted with the tool included in the set.

Leap or MagLev?

The platform, size and adjustment system are the same. The Leap is a more affordable entry into the V100 series and suits cubers who like springs and matte plastic. The MagLev versions have a more "floating", lighter-feeling turn and are also available with a glossy UV coating.

Who is it for?

For cubers who want a cube with the character of a GAN flagship without paying extra for MagLev. It works well for someone who has outgrown their first magnetic cube and is starting to train more seriously, as well as for speedcubers looking for a lightweight 55 mm cube with springs. Beginners can solve on the factory settings, as adjustment is not needed for comfortable use.
