Picube MoYu WeiLong WRM V10 Picube LE

Picube MoYu WeiLong WRM V10 Picube LE 3x3

MoYu WeiLong WRM V10 Picube LE is a limited edition of MoYu's flagship 3x3 cube, prepared by Picube. From the outside it looks almost like the standard WRM V10, but several things have been changed inside. Picube wanted the cube to turn more lightly and feel less "blocky" than the original. It has a UV coating and a magnetic Ball-Core, and it comes in two internal colors: green (Green) and purple (Purple).

How it differs from the standard WRM V10

The standard WRM V10 Ball-Core version has 20 magnets in the core. It gives a lot of control and resists popping, but it has a hard, blocky feel. Reviewers also pointed out lockups at many settings. The Picube edition changes this character:

• 8-magnet Ball-Core instead of the 20-magnet one. The core pulls the layers into alignment less strongly.
• No repelling magnets at the edges, which in the standard V10 worked together with the core magnets.
• Looser tension range, so you can set the cube noticeably looser than the original.

How it solves

Cubers who switched from the standard V10 say the Picube version turns more cleanly and feels less "blocky". With 20 magnets in the core, the magnets partly worked against each other, and here that effect is gone. The cube is still magnetic and stable, but more flexible. It suits lighter, faster turning better. If what you like about the V10 is its stiffness and strong auto-alignment, this edition may feel too loose for you. The UV-coated plastic of the V10 has a reputation for being rather brittle, so the cube doesn't like being dropped on hard floors.

Who is it for?

For speedcubers who know the WRM V10 and find it too stiff. It will also suit anyone looking for a 3x3 cube with a Ball-Core and a more flexible feel than the standard model. It's a limited edition, so it may also interest WeiLong collectors. For a child's first cube, a cheaper magnetic model is usually enough.
