The WeiLong WRM V10 series comes in several versions. This one has a 20-magnet Ball-Core, classic springs without MagLev and a UV coating. The MoYu WeiLong WRM V10 3x3 20M Ball-Core UV is a cube for people who want magnets in the core but prefer the feel of springs. It comes in the stickerless bright variant.

How it feels in your hands

MoYu changed the shape of the pieces in the V10. As a result, the cube feels more compact and tactile than previous WeiLongs, while corner cutting is still very good. Users often describe it as "blocky", with strong to medium magnets and a lot of control. It gets high praise for its resistance to popping and corner twists during solves. Straight out of the box, the cube can be fast and slightly sandy. After lubing and setting it up, it becomes noticeably smoother.

There is another side, too. The cube rewards accurate turning, and imprecise moves can cause lockups. The core magnets snap the layers into place firmly (auto-alignment). Some people love this, while others with an aggressive, loose turning style find it too stiff.

Ball-Core and adjustment

• 20 magnets in the Ball-Core, 88 in total including the magnets in the pieces. The magnets between the corners and the core help align the layers and keep the cube stable during fast turning.
• Springs instead of MagLev. This gives a slightly more predictable feel than the MagLev version, which is faster and better suited to light turning.
• Dual numbered adjustment: 8 tension levels and 8 compression levels. You set them without turning screws, so it is easy to go back to a setup you know works.
• The UV coating gives a glossy surface and better grip.

Things to watch out for: some users report that the cube can fall apart when changing settings, and the center caps are fairly delicate. It is also known that UV coating can make the plastic more brittle.

Which V10 version?

The standard versions (frosted or UV) have magnets only in the pieces and are lighter. The Ball-Core UV adds magnets in the core, so the cube is more stable. The Ball-Core MagLev UV version has the same core, but uses MagLev magnets instead of springs, which makes it faster. If you are not sure about MagLev, this version is usually a safe choice.

Who is it for?

For speedcubers who want a stable, controllable cube with a Ball-Core and enjoy accurate, controlled turning. For a first cube, the standard magnetic version is enough.
