MoYu WeiLong WRM V10 3x3 UV

This is the UV version of the MoYu WeiLong WRM V10 3x3, MoYu's flagship model from 2024. The cube has 48 magnets between the corners and edges, classic springs and a new adjustment system with numbered settings. What sets it apart from the cheaper standard version is its glossy UV coating. It has no Ball-Core or MagLev, which is why it costs less than the higher V10 variants. It comes in the stickerless bright colour scheme.

How it turns

With the V10, MoYu changed the shape of the pieces. The manufacturer calls it "dragon scale". As a result, the cube has a solid, slightly tactile feel, while corner cutting is still good. The mechanism protects against popping. Users describe the standard V10 versions as stable and predictable, but not the fastest in the series. Some find the cube fairly "tight" even on looser settings. Out of the box the V10 can be dry, and lubing it noticeably improves the smoothness of turning.

Adjustment and UV coating

• 8 tension levels and 8 compression levels. You change the settings with the tool included in the set, without turning screws. Thanks to the numbering, it's easy to set all the faces the same way and go back to your proven setup.
• Springs. This is a classic system, without repelling magnets (MagLev).
• UV Coated. The glossy coating gives more grip than matte plastic and is more resistant to scratches.

How do the WeiLong WRM V10 versions differ?

• Standard: the same mechanism and 48 magnets, with a matte (frosted) finish.
• UV (this version): the standard version's mechanism with a UV coating.
• 20-Magnet Ball-Core UV: has an additional 20 magnets in the core (88 in total). The core magnets help align the layers (auto-alignment) and stabilise the cube during fast turning.
• MagLev 20-Magnet Ball-Core UV: has repelling magnets instead of springs (100 magnets in total). This is the fastest version in the series.

Who is it for?

For anyone who wants a cube with a solid mechanism and full adjustment but doesn't need a Ball-Core. It works well for casual and intermediate cubers, including as a first serious magnetic cube. It also makes a good gift for a child, because you can solve it straight away without changing the settings. A speedcuber who cares about auto-alignment and extra stability at high TPS will probably be better off with the Ball-Core version.
