MoYu Super AoLong 3x3 M 19th Anniversary

MoYu released this special edition of the Super AoLong to celebrate the brand's 19th anniversary. Mechanically, it is the flagship Super AoLong setup: a 20-magnet Ball-Core, MagLev and a single button that changes three magnetic forces at once. What sets it apart from the regular version is the presentation: an anniversary emblem, a collector's box and a UV coating. How it turns

The Super AoLong marks MoYu's return to the AoLong series after roughly a decade. The edges and centers use a different mechanism than the WeiLong V10 and V11, and the feel is closer to older WeiLongs than to current ones. Users most often praise the corner cutting. The cube clearly pulls the layers into place, but the auto-alignment does not come at the expense of corner cutting. The feel is described as smooth with a slightly tactile character, and the cube itself as light and controllable. Some cubers find it easier to control than the V11, but that depends on your turning style. The cube comes lubed from the factory.

Adjustment without taking the cube apart

• One-button triple adjustment. With a single button you change three things at once: the strength of the magnets in the pieces, the Ball-Core attraction and the Ball-Core repulsion. Each of these forces has 8 levels.
• 8 tension levels and 8 MagLev elasticity levels. Combined with the magnet settings, this gives you 512 combinations.
• MagLev with springs included. By default, the elasticity comes from magnets. If you prefer a classic feel, you can install the included springs.
• Up to 100 magnets, 20 of them in the Ball-Core.

19th Anniversary edition, regular or AI?

According to the available specifications, the number of magnets and the adjustment range are the same as in the standard Super AoLong with a 20-magnet Ball-Core and UV coating. The difference lies in the emblem and the box. If you only need the cube for practice, the regular version will do. The anniversary edition makes sense for collectors or as a gift. There is also the Super AoLong AI 19th Anniversary. It is a smart cube with Bluetooth, featuring an 8-magnet smart Ball-Core and dual adjustment instead of triple.

Who is it for?

For speedcubers who like to tailor their cube to themselves and will actually change the magnet, tension and elasticity settings. For beginners, this range of adjustment may be more overwhelming than helpful. For a child's first cube, a simpler magnetic model is a better choice.
