MoYu Super Aolong 3x3 Maglev 20M Ball Core UV

MoYu Super Aolong 3x3 Maglev 20M Ball Core UV

MoYu returns to the AoLong series, this time with a new mechanism and extensive adjustment options. MoYu Super Aolong 3x3 Maglev 20M Ball Core UV is a flagship magnetic cube with the MagLev system, a 20-magnet Ball-Core and a UV coating. This version is stickerless in the bright colour scheme.

How does the Super Aolong 3x3 turn?

On MagLev, the cube is fast and turns lightly. According to user reviews, the feel is mainly smooth, with a slight crunchy note that anyone who remembers the older AoLongs will recognise. Some compare it to the WeiLong V11 or describe it as something between the Super WeiLong and a GAN. Corner cutting gets good ratings. The magnets in the pieces give the layers a clear snap into place, and the Ball-Core keeps the cube under control at high TPS. Keep in mind that these are subjective impressions, and you can tune the cube quite a lot anyway. Some users notice that the lube wears in fairly quickly, so expect to relube it more often.

MagLev, Ball-Core and adjustment

• MagLev. Instead of springs, magnets push the layers apart. This means less friction and no spring noise.
• 20-magnet Ball-Core. The magnets in the core pull the corners towards the centre, help align the layers and reduce accidental pops and skips.
• 100 magnets in the whole cube.
• One-button adjustment. Use it to change the magnet settings and MagLev elasticity across 8 levels without taking the cube apart.
• Option to switch to springs. According to distributors, springs with caps are included in the set. If you prefer a more controllable feel, you can use them to replace the MagLev system.

UV or matte?

The non-UV version has a matte, frosted finish and medium grip. The UV version has a glossy coating that grips the fingers more firmly and is more scratch-resistant. The mechanism is the same in both. This series also includes an AI version, a smart cube with Bluetooth, but that is a separate product.

Who is it for?

The Super Aolong is best suited to a speedcuber who wants a flagship 3x3 with a wide range of settings and likes fast, light cubes. If you prefer slower, more "controlled" turning, switching to springs will help. For a child's first cube, a simpler and cheaper magnetic model is more than enough.
