YJ Pocket mini IVY Cube (48mm)

YJ Pocket mini IVY Cube is a smaller version of the Ivy Cube, a corner-turning puzzle. It measures approx. 48 mm, noticeably smaller than a regular Ivy, so it easily fits in your pocket, pencil case or backpack. The stickerless version (Stickerless Bright) has no stickers, so nothing can wear off or peel. This model has no magnets.

How the Ivy Cube works

The Ivy turns around its corners, similar to the Skewb, but its cut lines are curved. Each face consists of one leaf-shaped piece and two corners, which is where the puzzle's other popular name comes from: maple leaf skewb. The Ivy is considered one of the easier puzzles that aren't based on an NxN cube. Still, the moves aren't obvious if you only know the 3x3, so you'll need to experiment a little before you understand how the pieces move. That makes this mini Ivy a great first "different" puzzle after the classic cube.

Standard or magnetic?

YJ makes the Pocket Ivy in two versions: standard and magnetic. This product is the standard version. It has no magnets to snap the layers into place, so turning is lighter but less precise than in the M version. For casual solving and for your collection, that's more than enough. If you want a distinct "click" with every move or are thinking about faster, timed solving, consider the magnetic version.
