Cyclone Boys 3x3x3 FeiChi

Cyclone Boys 3x3x3 FeiChi is a budget speedcube released in 2018. It makes a good first cube for anyone who wants to start solving against the clock and needs something better than an ordinary "toy" puzzle cube. It is stickerless in a bright colour scheme, so there are no stickers that could wear off or peel.

How it turns

The cube turns smoothly and without much resistance. For its price range it performs decently, but keep in mind that it is a design from a few years ago. Newer mid-range and high-end cubes usually offer better corner cutting and fewer lockups during fast turning. While you are learning the beginner's method and taking your first steps with F2L, this difference won't be a big problem, because at this stage what matters most is that the cube doesn't resist and doesn't lock up every few moves.

Adjustment

Tension is set with screws in the mechanism. Tightening the screws makes the cube turn tighter and feel more controlled, while loosening them speeds up turning and makes corner cutting easier, but increases the risk of popping, i.e. pieces coming out. It's best to adjust all sides evenly, a fraction of a turn at a time, and check the result after each change.

Who is it for?

The FeiChi is a great choice for a beginner cuber, as a cube for a child, or as a spare cube for school or your bag. If you already solve regularly and want to improve your times, sooner or later you will need a newer cube, ideally a magnetic one with a more refined mechanism. The model is legal for official competitions, so you can also use it at your first tournament.
