GAN Cube Stand

GAN Cube Stand – triangular cube stand

GAN Cube Stand is a small, transparent stand from GAN that keeps your cube in place on a shelf or desk, so it doesn't roll across the surface. It has the shape of a flat triangle. The sides are faceted like glass, and each of them carries the GAN logo. From a distance it looks a bit like a crystal, so it doesn't draw attention away from the cube itself.

How it works

The centre of the stand is hollow. The cube rests in it on one corner, so you can see three of its faces at once. In the manufacturer's photos, a Skewb and a Megaminx also sit on the same stand, so it isn't an accessory for 3x3 cubes only. The stand weighs about 6 g and each side is 74 mm long. You can easily toss it into your backpack together with your cube and set it next to you at a competition or on your desk between solves.

What it's useful for

• Displaying your collection. Each cube on its own stand looks better on a shelf than several cubes lying side by side. If you have several models, it's also easier to find the one you need right away.
• A spot for your cube during practice. Your cube has a fixed place on your desk, doesn't fall off and doesn't collect dust on every side.
• A small extra for a gift. The stand is cheap and light, so it goes well with an order that includes a cube, for example for a child who wants to put their first cube on display.

It's a simple piece of transparent plastic with no adjustments. There's nothing to rave about, but it does exactly what it should. Because the walls are thin, it's worth handling it with care and not throwing it loose in with heavier items.
