3D Blindfold + Earplugs

This blindfold training set includes a black 3D eye mask and two earplugs from Zcube. It's useful for anyone learning to solve a cube blindfolded: 3BLD, 4BLD and 5BLD, as well as multi blind. The blindfold covers your eyes and the earplugs block out the noise around you, so it's easier to focus on memorization and on the solve itself.

Why a dedicated blindfold?

When they start learning, many people cover their eyes with a scarf or an ordinary sleep mask. They soon find that the fabric slips, light gets through or it needs constant adjusting. The contoured 3D blindfold is raised over the eyes, so it sits on your face better than a flat band. There are fewer distractions during an attempt, and that matters when you're holding the whole edge and corner memo in your head.

At WCA competitions, everyone brings their own blindfold. It's worth getting used to the one you'll use for official attempts in advance. Remember that the delegate or a judge may check your blindfold before the attempt.

Earplugs

Competition venues are noisy: someone is calling groups, timers beep and other competitors are talking nearby. Noise is more distracting during memo than in regular solving. The earplugs in this set help you shut it out. WCA Regulations allow competitors to use earplugs and earmuffs as long as they are not electronic devices. The earplugs in this set contain no electronics, so you can safely use them at competitions.
