This replacement part fits cubes from the DaYan ZhanChi V5 M 3x3 series. It is a center cap with no logo. Fit it in place of the factory cap with the DaYan print, and you get a smooth center with no markings. The cap is white.

What it's for

For many people, the logo on one of the centers is just a matter of looks. For others, it gets in the way while solving. You can feel the factory logo on the ZhanChi V5 under your fingers, and it also makes it easy to misjudge the cube's orientation during inspection. A blank cap solves both problems. It also comes in handy if the original cap gets lost, scratched or cracked.

Which ZhanChi V5 M version does it fit?

This is the most important thing to check before you buy. The cap has no magnets, and this determines which version of the cube it works well with:

• Standard (white internals, classic springs) and Fancy (aqua internals, MagLev): the caps in these versions have no magnets, so the blank cap changes nothing in how the cube performs.
• Premium (lavender internals): this version has a cap-axis system, which means magnets in the center caps that help align the layers. The cap without magnets physically fits, but one face will no longer behave the same as the others. That's why we don't recommend this part for the Premium version, unless you want to transfer the magnets yourself or buy extra ones.

According to user reviews, the cap has slots for magnets. If you have the Premium version and aren't afraid of modding, you can add them. You will then need to balance the difference on that face by adjusting the other magnets.

Installation

The caps on the ZhanChi V5 M come off the same way as when you adjust the cube. Pry off the old cap and press the new one into place. Swapping the cap does not change the tensioning, compression or magnet strength settings in the pieces.
