Calvins Puzzle Fisher Wall Cube II is part of the Fisher Wall series, a set of variations on two classic 3x3 shape mods: the Fisher Cube and the Windmill Cube. Calvin's Puzzle designed them to look more difficult than a regular Fisher once scrambled. This puzzle has a black body with stickers, and the cube bears the logo of Tony Fisher, the creator of the original Fisher Cube.

How it works

Underneath, it uses the mechanism of a regular 3x3 cube; only the shape of the pieces changes. According to users, the top and bottom layers behave just like on a standard 3x3. The real character of this puzzle lies in the middle layer, which is "fisherized": the pieces that are centers on a regular cube look like edges here, and vice versa. Because of this, the Fisher Wall Cube II resembles a 3x3 Mixup at first glance, but you solve it differently, as the centers don't move the way they do on a Mixup.

Once scrambled, the cube loses its cubic shape, so it's hard to tell where each piece is. That is the biggest challenge of this puzzle, not new algorithms.
