Calvins Puzzle Full Function Crazy 3x3x3 (Center-Locking)

At first glance it looks like an ordinary 3x3, but every face has a circle cut around the center. Calvins Puzzle Full Function Crazy 3x3x3 (Center-Locking) is a puzzle from the Crazy family. Its key feature is that the circles are locked: when you turn a face, only the outer ring rotates, while the circle in the middle stays in place. Because of this, familiar algorithms behave differently here than on a classic cube. The version available in our shop has a black body.

How the Crazy 3x3x3 Center-Locking works

On a regular 3x3, turning a face moves all of its pieces together. Here, the parts inside the circle do not rotate with the face, so after just a few moves the cube looks completely different from a standard 3x3. Even so, it can be fully scrambled. Solving it takes a lot of thinking and usually your own sequences, especially if this is your first Crazy-type puzzle.

"Full Function" means that no face turn is ever blocked. You can turn any layer at any time, without the restrictions found on some circle cubes. According to the distributor, this design differs from the Crazy 3x3x3 made by mf8, as it has no inner corners.

Who is it for?

This cube is for collectors and for anyone who can already solve a 3x3 and is looking for a new challenge. It is not a cube for setting speed records. What counts here is understanding the mechanism, not TPS. If you are just learning to solve, a classic 3x3 is a better place to start. Come back to the Crazy version once the basic method no longer gives you trouble.
