How Angstrom Celeritas lube works

Reagent A is a special silicone suspension containing carbon-based monomers. The silicone and additives protect the monomers from crosslinking too early, until Reagent B is added to the cube.

Reagent B starts the reaction and crosslinks the monomers from Reagent A. It creates the characteristic gliding of the layers and makes this effect last longer during normal solving. Celeritas is therefore neither a regular water-based lube nor a typical silicone lube. Instead, it combines the properties of several types of lube at once. Cubicle uses it in its own setups as a piece lube, usually together with Angstrom Gravitas and DNM-37.

How to use

1. Clean any previous lube out of the cube and let it dry. Add 1-2 drops of Reagent A. Don't overdo it: right after application, Reagent A feels completely different from the finished lube, and too much of it will slow the cube down considerably. Turn the cube a lot so the reagent evenly coats the internal surfaces. About two solves are usually enough.
2. Add 2-3 drops of Reagent B and start turning the cube straight away so that both components react evenly.
3. After this step, the cube may be too fast or too slow. If it is too fast, slow it down with a thick silicone lube. If it is too slow, clean it and lube it again using less Reagent A.

Things to keep in mind

The lube contains water, so do not apply it directly to the metal parts of the cube. Not every cube reacts to Celeritas in the same way. For larger cubes, the manufacturer recommends less Reagent A and more Reagent B. By changing the ratio of the two components, you can adjust the feel to some extent. User opinions on durability vary, from a few weeks to a few months with daily solving. A lot depends on the cube and how intensively you use it.

Who is it for?

Celeritas is a good choice for cubers who do their own setups and want to speed up their cube while keeping a smooth, gliding feel. Some people use it as an alternative to DNM-37. If you just want to quickly lube your first cube, a one-part silicone lube will be easier for you. Celeritas requires cleaning the cube, precise dosing and a bit of experimenting.
