A silicone lube from the Cubicle Labs series, designed for 3x3 cubes and other twisty puzzles. The current version of Cubicle Labs Silk is an improved take on the older Silk lube. It has medium viscosity and is not meant to make your cube faster. It adds slide to your turns while making the feel softer, more plush and quieter.

How Silk lube changes your cube

Silk is thicker than light water-based lubes such as DNM-37 from the same Cubicle Labs series. In practice, a lubed cube turns smoothly without scratchiness and gains a bit of control. Silk also does a good job of quieting cubes that click loudly. If your cube feels too twitchy during fast turning or has a dry, scratchy feel, Silk will usually even that out. If your cube is already slow and heavy, however, this lube is unlikely to help. In that case, a thinner lube is the better choice.

According to sellers and users, the lube lasts a long time, so you don't need to reapply it often.

How to use

• 1-2 drops are enough. It's better to start with a small amount and add more if needed than to overdo it from the start.
• You can apply it to the pieces or to the core and springs. On the core, Silk removes the feeling of resistance without the cube losing control.
• It suits cubes of any size, from 2x2 to bigger puzzles.
• It is safe to touch but must not be swallowed. Keep the bottle away from high temperatures and fire.

Who is it for?

For cubers who want to change the feel of their cube: make it softer, quieter and add a bit of control. Silk works well in new cubes that feel dry straight out of the box, and in models that are hard to control with stronger magnets and loose settings. If you mainly want more speed, a light water-based lube will be a better fit.
