A magnetic corner-turning tetrahedron from DianSheng with a floral pattern on its faces. Once you set three corners at the right angle, hidden turning planes appear that noticeably raise the difficulty level. Available in Stickerless Bright and Transparent versions.

DianSheng Carnation Tetrahedron M is a magnetic tetrahedron-shaped puzzle, but it is not just another Pyraminx variant. Here you turn the corners (corner-turning), and once you turn several of them at the same time, new turning planes appear. The letter M in the name stands for the magnetic version. Outside Poland, the same puzzle is sometimes sold as the Galaxy Carnation Tetrahedron. The name comes from the floral pattern on each face, which resembles a carnation.
At first, the tetrahedron solves like an ordinary corner-turning puzzle. Things get interesting when you set three corners at the right angle. An additional turning plane then appears, and the edge pieces can move in a new way. The mechanism is based on an internal circular track. Once scrambled using these hidden moves, the puzzle becomes noticeably harder. Pyraminx algorithms alone won't be enough here. You need to work out for yourself how the mechanism works.
The magnets help a piece settle into the correct position and make it easier to hit the alignment that unlocks the additional turn. This matters, because with puzzles of this type a misaligned piece can easily block the next move. The pieces interlock, which according to sellers is meant to prevent popping. So far there are only a few reviews describing the feel of this model in detail. The tetrahedron is not designed for timed speedsolving, but for calmly figuring out the mechanism.
There are two versions to choose from: Stickerless Bright with coloured stickerless plastic and Transparent with see-through pieces. The mechanism is the same in both. In the Transparent version you can see better how the pieces move inside, while Stickerless Bright is easier to read while solving.
For those who have already mastered the Pyraminx and other basic puzzles and are looking for something unusual for their collection. It will also appeal to those who prefer exploring a new mechanism to practising fast solving. As a first puzzle for a child, a classic Pyraminx is a better choice, because here the difficulty rises sharply once you get into the hidden moves.
