The MS3-V1 was the first cube from the MsCUBE brand and hit the market at the turn of 2020 and 2021. The brand was founded by Zi Hao, a former GAN employee, and in 2022 it was taken over by DianSheng. That is why this magnetic 3x3 cube is now sold as the DianSheng MSCUBE MS3-V1 M Enhanced. The model comes in two versions: Standard and Enhanced. This page covers the Enhanced version.

Enhanced means center-edge magnets

In addition to the regular magnets in the pieces, the Enhanced version has extra magnets between the centers and the edges, placed in the edge torpedoes. The manufacturer calls this a dual positioning system. In practice, the middle layers also snap into place on their own, not just the outer layers. The Standard version doesn't have these magnets, so it turns more lightly. Center-edge magnets can make M moves a little harder. According to reviews, MsCUBE used weaker magnets here, but some users still describe slices as slightly slower, though without catching.

How it turns

The MS3-V1 has a distinct character: the feel is crunchy and tactile, and the cube is fairly flexible. Users praise its corner cutting. Some of them note that even at the tightest setting the cube stays rather loose. If you prefer a firm, "tight" cube or a very smooth feel, keep this in mind.

The MS3-V1 M Enhanced is a good choice for cubers who like tactile, clearly noticeable turning and want to try a cube with a different character than popular mains. Because of the adjustment system, it's not the easiest cube for a complete beginner to set up on their own. Still, it will be a comfortable choice for someone who already knows the basics and wants a solid magnetic cube.
