The first cube from the MsCUBE brand. The brand was founded by a former GAN designer, and in 2022 it was taken over by DianSheng. The MS3-V1 M Enhanced is a magnetic 3x3 cube released in early 2021. It differs from the Standard version by a second set of magnets that works between the centers and the edges, not just between the edges and the corners. The variant we offer is stickerless bright.

How it turns

According to reviews and user feedback, the MS3-V1 has a crunchy, tactile feeling and is noticeably flexible. It is light, turns fast and is fairly quiet. The cube is on the loose side, even at the tightest tension setting. If you like tight, controlled setups, you may be disappointed. Users rate the corner cutting well. Slice moves are a bit slower, but they don't catch. According to users, the cube takes a long time to break in, and its full feeling only comes through after a few weeks of regular solving.

Enhanced or Standard?

The mechanism is the same in both versions. The Enhanced version has additional edge-center magnets, i.e. between the edges and the centers. They help align the layers during middle-layer moves as well. The Standard version has only the classic edge-corner magnets, which makes it feel lighter. Reviewers more often chose the Enhanced version. Edge-center magnets are rarely found in cubes, so the MS3-V1 Enhanced behaves in a rather unusual way.

Adjustment

The adjustment system sets the MS3-V1 apart from most cubes. Compression is changed with a dial in the core, similar to GAN's GES system. On top of that, there are interchangeable springs and core parts. There are plenty of options, but many people find the system unclear at first. You need to take a moment to understand how the settings interact and test a few configurations. The pieces feature a "spider-web" pattern designed to hold lube longer.

Who is it for?

For cubers who like a fast, light and flexible cube with a tactile feeling and enjoy choosing their own setup. It is also a great choice as an interesting cube for your collection. If you are looking for a stable, tightly controlled cube or buying a first cube for a child, a simpler model will usually be a better fit.
