FanXin 3x3 Hexagonal Prism

FanXin 3x3 Hexagonal Prism is a shape-shifting puzzle (a so-called shape mod) built on the mechanism of a regular 3x3 cube. When solved, it has the shape of a hexagonal prism. After a few moves it loses this shape and turns into an irregular form. The body is black, and instead of stickers it has colored tiles, which don't peel off or wear out like regular stickers.

How to solve it

The moves and algorithms are the same as on a 3x3 cube. If you can solve a classic cube, you already know the method. The challenge lies elsewhere. The pieces vary in size and shape, so when scrambled, the puzzle looks completely different from a cube. That makes it harder to recognize which piece is which and where it should go.
