FanXin Hollow Concave 3x3x3 is a classic 3x3 cube with a distinctive look. The pieces aren't solid. How does it turn?

The openwork design doesn't get in the way of solving. Speedcubing shops that carry it agree that the cube turns well, even though it looks delicate. It's lightweight and has no magnets, so the layers don't snap into place on their own the way they do on magnetic cubes. Turning feels looser as a result, and you have to align the layers yourself. That's no problem for relaxed solving. If you're used to a magnetic speed cube, though, you'll notice the difference in stability straight away.

Is it suitable for competitions?

No. You can see pieces on the other side through the cube, which WCA regulations don't allow, so you can't use it at official competitions. For timed practice and working on your TPS, a regular magnetic 3x3 cube is the better choice. People buy the Hollow Concave mainly for its looks and for the fun of solving it.
