Not every puzzle in our shop is solved with algorithms. FlipSlide Electronic Cube is an electronic skill game in the shape of a cube. The centre fields light up in selected colors, and your job is to flip and slide the movable blocks so their colors match the lights. What counts here is reflexes, perception and memory. Knowing solving methods won't help you at all.

How to play FlipSlide

The movable pieces have different colors on their sides. First you flip them to find the right color, then you slide them into place next to the matching field. The game shows one light pattern after another, and reaction time matters a lot. The key is reading the color quickly and moving smoothly, without searching for the right side several times.

Game modes

• Speed: as many matches as possible within a time limit.
• Level: successive levels with less and less time for each move.
• Memory: memorize a sequence of colors and reproduce it.
• Multiplayer: take turns with another player. The game is passed on only after a sequence is completed correctly.

Is it for cubers?

To put it plainly: FlipSlide won't replace a 3x3 cube and won't help you learn F2L or OLL. It has no magnets, no tension adjustment and no corner cutting - none of the things you look at when choosing a speed cube. It's more of a break from solving. It works well during a pause, while travelling or as a game for family evenings, since Multiplayer mode lets two people play together.

For parents looking for a gift for a child who enjoys reflex and memory games, FlipSlide offers quick, easy-to-understand fun with no algorithms to learn. However, if your child wants to get started with cubing, a simple magnetic 3x3 cube is a better choice.
