GAN 16 Maglev Max Winter Limited Edition

Amyth is the winter limited edition of GAN's 2025 flagship cube. The GAN 16 Maglev Max Winter Limited Edition has the same mechanism as the standard GAN 16 Maglev Max. The difference is in the looks: the body is made of transparent purple plastic with fine particles that sparkle in the light. It was inspired by winter frost and amethyst. This 3x3 cube is most often chosen by cubers who want a flagship GAN and, at the same time, something special for their collection.

How the GAN 16 Maglev Max Amyth turns

In your hands, it is simply a GAN 16 Max. The cube is very fast and has excellent corner cutting. Noticeable auto-alignment pulls the layer into place over roughly the last 40° of a turn. Reviewers say the magnets feel more linear than in the GAN 14 and 15, without the "bumpy" feel some cubers disliked in those models. Some people find the cube too fast or slippery straight out of the box. This model performs best once you spend a little time on setup. Owners of the Amyth edition confirm that it turns exactly like the regular version.

Magnets, MagLev and tension adjustment

• MagLev: instead of metal springs, repelling magnets do the work. This means less friction and no spring noise.
• 136 magnets: 124 magnets and 12 double magnetic rings. New is the magnet network in the middle layer (24 in the centers and 24 in the edge feet), which improves middle-layer alignment.
• 72 settings: 12 levels of magnetic tension and 6 levels of center stroke. You change them on numbered dials using the included tool.
• Replaceable magnet bars: the set includes extra magnets in the form of small bars. You can install them to change the magnet strength.
• UV coating on the pieces.

The cube comes in a special box with Amyth artwork. The set includes two sticker sets to apply yourself: a classic six-color set and a second one with an amethyst pattern. GAN also adds digital bonuses in the Cube Station app with your purchase: a special Amyth skin and an avatar frame.

Who is it for?

For speedcubers who want a GAN 16 Max with the full range of adjustment and like limited editions. If you only care about performance, the regular Max UV version gives you exactly the same. For a child's first cube, this many settings is probably unnecessary; a simpler magnetic model will do.
