This is a magnetic 3x3 cube with electronics inside. It sends every move to an app on your phone via Bluetooth. The GAN 356 i3 V2 Smart Cube turns like a regular speed cube and records your whole solve along the way: time, moves and pace. We offer the stickerless bright version.

What a smart cube gives you

The cube times itself and records your moves, so you don't need a timer or have to enter your results manually. Tracking is handled by the Smart Core 3.0 module with a gyroscope. The gyroscope also tracks the rotation of the whole cube in your hands, so the cube in the app rotates along with the real one instead of only mirroring layer turns. According to the manufacturer, move tracking stays accurate even during fast turning. The app works with GAN AI Academy, which offers solve statistics, result analysis and training materials.

Magnets and adjustment

Despite the electronics, the i3 V2 can be adjusted like a regular speed cube. The magnets have 7 strength levels and the tension has 9 settings. This means you can set the cube looser and faster, or tighter and more stable. It's worth taking a moment to find your own setup, as the factory setting won't suit everyone.

Battery

According to the manufacturer, a single charge lasts about 15 hours of active solving, and in standby mode the cube lasts up to 365 days. GAN also states that the mechanism was designed for more than 50,000 solves.

Who is it for?

For cubers who want to train based on data and see where they lose time, not just look at the final result. It's also a good choice if you want solving and timing in a single device. If you only want a cube for speedsolving, without an app or charging, a regular magnetic 3x3 cube will be the cheaper option.
