GAN 356 RS is a non-magnetic 3x3 cube with GES v4 numerical tension adjustment. It comes with yellow springs (3.4 N) installed and two compression levels to choose from. It turns lightly and smoothly and is ready to solve right out of the box, but without magnets it is less stable than magnetic models.

GAN 356 RS 3x3x3

GAN 356 RS 3x3x3 is a non-magnetic speed cube from 2020 and a newer version of the 356 R, GAN's first budget cube. The whole line goes back to the GAN 356 S. The RS version uses the mechanism and tension adjustment system carried over from GAN's more expensive models, but without magnets. When solving, it feels a bit like a GAN 356 XS without magnets.

How it turns

The cube turns very lightly and smoothly, and the factory setup is well chosen, so you can start solving right out of the box. The contact surfaces of the pieces have a honeycomb texture, and the edges have rounded shapes, which helps with corner cutting. The surface is matte (frosted).

Keep in mind, however, that the lack of magnets noticeably reduces stability. The layers don't snap into place on their own, so you need more precise turning to keep the cube aligned. If you've already used a magnetic cube, you'll feel the difference right away. On the other hand, some cubers deliberately choose non-magnetic models because they like a lighter, freer feel.

GES v4 tension adjustment

The adjustment is numerical and needs no screwdriver. You change the tension by hand by swapping the GES nuts. There are two compression levels to choose from: 0.6 mm and 0.8 mm. The cube comes with yellow GES v4 (3.4 N) installed. It is compatible with GES v4 numerical sets, so you can buy harder or softer springs separately.

Who is it for?

A great first proper speed cube for anyone who wants something better than an ordinary supermarket cube. It also works well for cubers who prefer a non-magnetic 3x3 or need a light backup cube. If stability at high TPS is your priority, a magnetic model will usually suit you better.

Dobra jak na swoją cenę
Na kostce mam do tej pory około 250 ułożeń i jak za tą cenę jest na prawdę poprawna. Do tej pory moim mainem był Weilong GTSv2 i różnica między tymi kostkami jest zauważalna. GAN posiada bardzo przyjemną matową powierzchnie, co usprawnia proces układania oraz sam feeling tej kostki jest dużo przyjemniejszy niż w GTS. Najbardziej zauważalną różnicą między tymi kostkami jest ścinanie zakrętów. GAN niestety radzi sobie gorzej spośród tych dwóch układanek jeśli chodzi o ścinanie zakrętów. Ogólnie kostka jest dobra i bardzo przyjemnie się ją układa.
