GAN Cube bag - pouch for your cube

GAN Cube bag is an official GAN pouch for a 3x3 cube. It comes in handy when your cube travels in a backpack or bag, or sits on a shelf between sessions. It is made of soft, velour-like fabric (the manufacturer lists it as flannel), closes with a drawstring and has the GAN logo on the front. The blue version is available in our shop.

What it's for

A cube carried loose in a backpack quickly picks up dust, crumbs and small bits of dirt. Some of it then gets into the mechanism and mixes with the lube, which makes turning less smooth and means you have to clean the cube more often. The pouch won't eliminate this problem completely, but it reduces it noticeably. The soft fabric also protects the surface from scratches caused by keys or zippers, which matters for cubes with a UV coating and for smart cubes, where scratches show up quickly.

To be clear about what this pouch is not: it isn't a hard case and it won't protect your cube from being crushed or from a strong impact. Its job is to protect against dust and scratches during everyday carrying.

Which cubes fit

The pouch measures approx. 13 x 12.6 cm, so it fits standard 3x3 cubes of approx. 55-57 mm, both speed cubes and smart cubes. GAN states that it fits, among others, the GAN V100 3x3 MagLev and the GAN16 MagLev Max. Smaller puzzles such as a 2x2 or Pyraminx will fit too. This size is not intended for larger puzzles such as a 5x5 or Megaminx.

Who is it for?

For anyone who takes their cube to competitions, to school or on a trip and wants to keep it in one place, clean and free of scratches. The pouch also works as a simple, inexpensive gift add-on when you're buying someone their first cube. If you have several cubes in your collection, separate pouches help keep them organized.
