GAN robot caps – center caps for the GAN robot

GAN robot caps are a set of six center caps that fit over the center pieces of each face. With them fitted, a regular GAN 3x3 cube can be placed in the GAN robot. The robot turns the cube by gripping its centers, so it needs caps with four recesses for its grippers. GAN smart cubes come with these centers already, but most cubes without Bluetooth don't. This set fills that gap.

The caps fit only 56 mm GAN cubes.

Which cubes they work with

According to the manufacturer and distributors, these replacement robot centers fit the GAN356 X, GAN356 XS, GAN356 i and GAN356 i Play. The stickerless version also fits the GAN356 R S. Keep in mind that not every 56 mm GAN cube will take these caps. Users report that they don't fit the GAN356 Air SM, GAN356 Air UM or the GAN11 M series, among others. Before you buy, check that your cube has replaceable centers of this type.

How it works in practice

• Remove the original center caps (usually by prying them up at the corner where there is a gap) and press the caps from the set into their place.
• The cap colors match the face colors. Fit each cap on the face of the same color, otherwise the cube and the app won't match.
• A cube without Bluetooth doesn't send its state to the CubeStation app. This means it won't work with the robot the way a smart cube does, and some features (e.g. automatic scrambling) may be unavailable or limited.

Color versions

The set is available in two variants: Black, for cubes with a black body and stickers, and Stickerless Bright, for stickerless cubes in bright colors. Choose the variant that matches your cube.

Robot V1 and V2

Newer GAN smart cubes, produced since July 2024, have a different type of center. To use them with the first-generation robot, you need the V2 gripper, not these caps. This set is for adapting older 56 mm GAN cubes without Bluetooth, not newer smart cubes.
